Parishioners of Holy Trinity are invited to get involved in our parish in many ways. Listed are some of the opportunities that you may find personally and spiritually rewarding:
Sunday Worship
Altar Servers: assist the priests and deacons during the Mass or liturgical service. Boys and girls 9yrs. and older; young adults, married couples and family groupings of parents and their children are invited to serve at the altar.
Environment Decoration: creates a physical environment that enhances our prayer and reflects the liturgical seasons (lighting, candles, and banners) such as Advent, Lent, Christmas, All Souls Day, and Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Eucharistic Ministers: assists bishops, priests and deacons in distributing the Body of Christ and the Precious Blood.
Lectors: A person with the talent of proclaiming clearly and intelligibly the Holy Scripture in the celebration of the Eucharist and other liturgies where the word of God is proclaimed.
Music/Choir: Choir and musicians sing and play at weekend Masses and for special occasions. At present a variety of choirs are available; Hand bell, Schola (traditional sacred music), and Holy Trinity 11:00 a.m.choir, Coro Hispano, and Sunday 5:00pm Contemporary choir. Other opportunities to sing include Spiritual Events (i.e. prayer services) and High Holy Day Celebrations.
Ushers/Greeters: Assist in seating parishioners at mass; take up collection and distribute bulletins before and after Mass; welcome/facilitate physical needs of parishioners.
Sacristans/Altar Linen Care: Care and maintenance of altar linens and sacristy items.
On-going Working Groups: Volunteers needed for the following: Spiritual Events (prayer services, retreats, Advent and Lent…), Training, (Lectors, etc) and High Holy Days Celebration (coordinating special elements/events)
Faith Formation
Adult Faith Formation: provides a variety of experiences for education and faith formation. Check church bulletin for days/times.
RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process of welcoming new members into the Catholic Church. It is for those men and women who have not been baptized, received First Eucharist or Confirmation in the Catholic Church. Its main purpose is to assist prospective Catholics in their journey to become active members of the church. Meets Sept. - May.
Children’s Faith Formation: from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade; preparation for sacraments of First Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation; develops Catholic and Christian faith through ongoing education. Meets on Sunday mornings.
Trinity Teens: works with the youth of the parish to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship with other youth. Adult volunteers are welcomed.
Parish Life
Beyond Sunday: members in their 20’s and 30’s, meets 1st Sunday of the month after the 5:00 pm Mass.
Grateful Fed Supper Club: 40 + parishioners interested in socializing and meeting others in the parish. Several activities throughout the year.
Sunday Office Volunteer: visitor and guest relations via phone and personal contact during weekend liturgies.
Technical Support: need volunteers to assist with carpentry, grounds landscaping, AC/Heating.
Pastoral Care for Sick and Homebound: Assists the pastor and Church community respond to the spiritual, emotional, psychological, social and practical needs of parishioners who cannot take part in the life of the parish due to age, illness or loss.
Community
Holy Trinity Center: Ministry for families in need serving zip codes 75204, -205, -207, -209, -219, & -235 providing food and financial aid. The Center needs volunteers, donations of food and money, and Christmas sponsors.
St. Vincent De Paul Society: an international Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together to grow spirit offering themselves to the poor. The core of Vincentian spirituality is seeing the face of Jesus in the faces of those in need. Volunteers make home visits to the poor, or work at the St. Vincent Center, or both.
Holy Trinity Catholic School
Catholic education for pre-school through eighth grade. Volunteer opportunities exist in the following areas: listening to primary students read, tutoring, Friends of the Library, Fall Festival, athletics, after school arts, crafts, and fundraising, to just name a few of the many opportunities.
School Advisory Council: Advises the Pastor and the Principal on the policy and financial issues concerning the school. Meeting held the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Aug. - May.
Friends of Holy Trinity Catholic School, Inc.: a 501 (c) 3 non-profit founded for the purpose of raising funds for our school. Volunteers needed to work on membership and programs.
“The Parish Commissions of Holy Trinity Catholic Church assure a public forum for parishioners to express their concerns and to participate in the pastoral activity of the parish.”
Administration Commission - Buildings and Special Projects : makes recommendations regarding the use of and maintenance of facilities, and methods to reduce cost of utilities; works on special projects with other commissions and the Pastor.
Faith Formation and Education Commission: fosters educational opportunities for prayerful reflection, spiritual enrichment and personal growth.
Parish Community Life Commission: offers an avenue to develop better relationships within our parish and creates opportunities for families to participate in parish life. Provides ways for parishioners to develop supportive relationships with each other and builds community within the church by sponsoring programs that promote and strengthen parish and family life.
Worship and Spiritual Life Commission: provides parishioners a dynamic and prayerful setting essential to public worship, the liturgical ministries, and Catholic spirituality.
Stewardship Commission: works with the parish staff, finance council and Pastor to identify effective ways for communicating with the parish membership Holy Trinity’s needs for their Time, Talent and Treasure; coordinates Annual Ministry Fair and Stewardship Campaign for the parish.
